E-World Recyclers Assists With E-Waste Cleanup From Hawaiian Earthquakes

For Immediate Release

VISTA, Calif./EWORLDWIRE/Feb. 5, 2007 --- Recycle Hawaii has chosen E-World Recyclers, one of California's most advanced electronic waste recyclers, to assist with the cleanup of electronic waste produced by the earthquake that rattled the Hawaiian Islands on October 15, 2006. The majority of the e-waste is in the form of damaged televisions and computers from the island's resort hotels along the North Kona and Kohala coast. https://secure.eworldwire.com/uploaded_images/client_logos/311216.jpg" align="right" alt="E-World Recyclers">

E-World Recyclers, located in Vista Calif., regularly provides recycling services for Hawaiian e-waste. Paul Buklarewicz, executive director for Recycle Hawaii, comments that "E-World has proven to be an environmentally responsible partner." Recycle Hawaii a 501(c) non-profit educational organization serving Hawaii Island was selected by the County of Hawaii to handle approximately 40 tons of commercial e-waste generated as a result of the 6.7 magnitude quake.

Electronic waste, a fast growing environmental pollutant, contributes approximately 1-4 percent of the municipal solid waste stream. Discarded electronic devices contain toxic materials such as lead, mercury, and cadmium, and selected e-wastes have been banned from landfills in the state of California since March of 2001. E-World Recyclers is a dedicated leader in the industry, promoting its socially responsible services to businesses, non-profits, government agencies, and educational institutions. "Providing recycling services to clients outside of California encourages proper disposal and broadens awareness of e-waste solutions," says Bob Erie, CEO and co-founder of E-World Recyclers.
